CHILD CARE RENOVATION
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
This Project for the State of
Nevada Public Works Board added to and renovated the existing daycare
facility at the Community College of Southern Nevada. The daycare
facility is an operating childcare center and the teaching facility for
the State childcare instruction program. The work added 5,000 square
feet to the facility and renovated portions of the existing facility. A
unique requirement of this project was to maintain the operation of the
existing facility as the new addition was constructed.
The
existing facility provided a Two-year Old Lab, a Three to Four-year Old
Lab and a Childcare Lab with a common Observation Area monitoring room,
a Kitchen with laundry facilities, and Offices for the Staff. This
Project involved adding an Infant Care Lab and a Nine-months to
Twenty-four month Old Lab with a common Observation Area, a second
Kitchen, a new Laundry Room, a Library, a Conference Room, Six offices
and a central Reception/Office Area with
controlled accesses from the existing College
areas and exterior, Toilets and Storage areas, a Classroom with access
from the Daycare Facility and the College, and an expansion of the
enclosed Playground. Also included was the complete renovation of
the existing Kitchen and modifications to comply with the Americans with
Disabilities Act. The new Office area required a complete
remodeling and expansion of the existing Offices and Administration
area.
