PRECISION ELECTRIC BUILDING
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
This Office / Shop facility is one half of a two building complex and is
designed for a single tenant. The building contains 6,600 square feet
of floor area including 1,400 square feet of second floor office and
storage area. The building was designed as the office and wood shop for
a custom woodworking company.
The building is of
tilt-up and cast-in-place concrete construction with wood framed
interiors and roof structure. The exterior faces are tilt-up concrete
panels and feature custom rib relief
patterns and curved window surround moldings, Cast-in-place concrete
first floor wall areas are recessed behind the fluted building piers and
overhanging second floor and provide further relief by curving into the
planes of the windows and doors. These lower walls are finished by
exposing the concrete aggregate. A band of glass block at the top of
the lower walls provides daylighting for the shop area. The deep set
entry in the lower walls is focused by the curved walls. A three tone
paint scheme emphasizes the layered relief of the building.
